I'm Worried my home is too small or too messy for an in home session... 

This is the concern that most of my clients ponder and I completely get it, I really do! Our homes are an extension of ourselves; we decorate them to our own tastes and pick colours that make a house feel like a home. Let’s face it though, when you have young children our houses can become a far cry from the idyllic home! Trust me, I have two young children – I am forever battling the cluttered collection of toys and baby equipment! Yet,  this is real life! There’s no getting away from it, sometimes things get messy.

However, pass your worries on to me, this is all part of my job. I will happily advise you on how to prepare your home and/or help you when I arrive. The idea is to tidy but not to overdo it, we don’t want to loose the real. As for small spaces, well that’s for me to worry about too! I will spot the best areas to shoot in - your bed and sofa are fantastic places to create beautiful images, as well as bright windows, cosy nooks and your front door – It’s all about your life.

What should I expect?

I like to keep it simple and true to who you are- my sessions are very relaxed and informal.  As a natural light lifestyle photographer, I do not work out of a studio but am inspired by and shoot mainly in client homes and outdoors. The most important thing is that everyone has fun and feels comfortable.  I will direct you and your family to interact with each other and ignore that I'm even there - finding the balance between natural family moments and directed.  I will work to capture the beauty of your family - whether it be the tender moments cradling your newborn or fits of laughter with your energetic toddler- I will capture the magic. 

I pride myself on delivering a bespoke service to my customers from start to finish -  it is an experience built for you. I don’t want you to be ‘pleased’, with the final result, I want you to fall in love! My aim is for you to come back to me year after year as your family photographer. I would like my partner to be involved in the shoot, but they work all week-can you do weekends?

Yes,  I am available for sessions on Saturday mornings, but these are always very popular. To avoid disappointment, please do contact me as far in advance as possible. 

What should we do after we pay for the photo shoot?

 

My biggest tip...relax, I promise, it is going to be a lot of fun.  

I will send you a client welcome guide before the shoot with tips on how to prepare, including tips and ideas for what to wear. We will then chat on the phone, in the week leading up to the photo session, and plan the shoot together.

I am unsure about the expense...

You’re right. Great photographers are not cheap… and cheap photographers are usually not great!  

When you hire me to photograph your family, you are hiring a professional. There aren’t many situations I haven’t encountered during a session (or my own family life). I am fully insured, I have backups of my backups, I know how to shoot in any kind of light, and I know children. You will receive quality photos every single time. You don’t have to worry.

It is worth paying a little extra. Hiring a professional photographer is not something you will regret when your little ones are no longer little. 

I want more than just my digitals. What about albums, prints, wall portraits, and other products?

I strongly believe in both physical and digital products. You want to be able to share your photos freely and enjoy them on your phone, computer, and other devices. You also want to have very high quality products that will stand the test of time - for you for them and for theirs.

After each session, we will meet together giving you an opportunity to purchase any products you want - I will offer some suggestions on what is most popular and what will work best in your space. If there is something you want that I do not offer, I’ll help you find someone who does. My pricing will always be easy to understand and is fully customisable, allowing you to create a bespoke collection.  I am here to help you, whatever your choices - there is never any pressure to buy any additional items.
